Please join us for the ISD Online Open House at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12!

We will share more about our new virtual high school, which opens in the fall of 2026, including details about how our full-time school will offer flexibility, meaningful support from teachers and mentors, and a welcoming community that encourages students to learn, grow and find balance in their academic journey!

Those who attend will also have the chance to hear about our learning center; what our personalized, high-quality instruction will be like; how students can participate in extracurricular activities; and more. Students will have the chance to help us vote on a mascot for our new school, which will serve grades 9-12.

Student Raises Money for Maple Hills

Over the summer, one Maple Hills student decided he wanted to do something special to help his school. Kai, a second-grader this year, held a garage sale and fresh lemonade stand with the goal of raising $500. He sold his old toys, books, and out-grown clothes, even his bouncy house! Kai said he wanted to do this "because we need cool things like supplies, field trips, or maybe just more pizza." Kai's mom said he was "super excited to hand over the money he raised for Maple Hills, and is so proud he reached his goal."

Thank you, Kai, for going above and beyond to make Maple Hills amazing! What an outstanding Eagle you are!

Principal JoEllen Tapper

Meet Principal JoEllen Tapper

Hi, Eagle families! One thing I love about being a principal is walking around the building and visiting classrooms. My absolute favorite is when I get to read a story to the students! A few fun facts about me: I particularly enjoy the children’s book called “The Book With No Pictures.” I would love to live on a sailboat and sail around the oceans to see whales, dolphins and all sea creatures! When I was in high school, I played the piccolo in the marching band.
