How can families support?
How can families support?
- Discuss what it means to be respectful, responsible, safe, and kind in different locations at school
- Every family is different.
- Talk with your student about how we don’t always agree with each other but we always respect each other
- Talk with your student about how to solve problems
- Difference between bullying and a conflict. Conflict is inevitable.
- Make sure that your child can identify a trusted adult
- Reporting vs. Tattletaling
- Become a volunteer – volunteer application; Volunteer Training with Ms. Tapper on Zoom - October 1, 7:00 p.m.
- Site Council Neighborhood Reps
- Label all clothing, lunchbox, etc. with name; check Lost & Found
Attendance
Absenteeism in K-5:
- Missing an average of just 2 days a month, excused or unexcused, makes it more likely that your child will not meet academic standards in math and reading by 3rd grade.
What can you do?
- Keep child home when truly sick
- Excuse absences by notifying office, use pre-arranged absences, or drs. notes
- Avoid appointments and travel when school is in session
- Email teacher and office: MH-Staff/OfficeStaff@Issaquah.wednet.edu
Students must be here to learn!
- 9:15am-3:45pm (Wednesday 9:15-1:30)
