This morning when our staff arrived at school, we discovered a leak from a clean water line in a bathroom near our classrooms for the second and fourth grades. Students in the affected area will be able to keep learning in their classrooms, but staff will provide extra supervision while students temporarily use the exterior classroom doors when moving to lunch, recess, specialist classes and the restroom.

Mrs Campbell would like to invite your child to become a member of the Maple Hills Eagles Choir! Choir is open to all 4th and 5th graders that are interested in singing and making music together.
Fall pictures are coming on September 28. Picture packets will go home the week before, or parents have the option to order their photos online. Please note the guidelines for ordering from Dorian Studios.

Each September is recognized as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration), the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and other mental health organizations. We are sharing resources and places to connect for help, for you or for anyone you know.
From September 28 through October 23, schools will administer the SAEBRS screening tools to help identify students who may need additional social-emotional support, including teacher ratings for students in kindergarten through fifth grade and student self-ratings in grades 2-12. Results also help inform social-emotional learning lessons and classroom practices, and schools will contact parents/caregivers if additional support is recommended.

Families are invited to join the ISD Special Services leadership team for "Donuts with Directors," a conversation with refreshments, from 10-11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 12 at the District Administration Building. We are sharing a reminder of the opportunity for high school students and parents or caregivers of students in grades 6-12 to participate on a committee on grading and homework this fall. We are looking for students and parents or guardians who can bring a range of experiences and perspectives. Those who are interested in participating are invited to apply by September 20.
The General Election is November 3. You can register to vote online or by mail through October 26 to vote in the election. You may also register in person through November 3 at a King County Elections center.
