Author Laurie Ann Thompson visits K-2 grades
After visiting our 3rd-5th grades in the fall, author Laurie Ann Thompson returned to Maple Hills to share again, this time with the Kindergarten-2nd grade classes. With 2nd graders, she read her book, Emmanuel's Dream, and gave some insider information about her interview with Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah, a boy with a physical disability who rode his bicycle across Ghana to raise awareness and support of people with disabilities. Students in 1st grade listened to her book, You Are a Raccoon! and got to do the motions of the raccoon as she read. Ms Thompson shared virtually with the Kindergarteners about what it's like being an author, after answering questions about her books, You Are a Raccoon! and You Are a Honeybee!
Thanks to Laurie Ann Thompson for sharing with Maple Hills students again!
