Author Laurie Ann Thompson Visits Maple Hills

On Tuesday, October 10, Maple Hills 3rd - 5th graders were treated to a visit from Children and Young Adults author, Laurie Ann Thompson. Laurie talked about her series Two Truths and a Lie and how important it is to evaluate sources when searching for factual information.

One 4th grade student, Dottie S, wasted no time applying what she learned. When she questioned whether a picture in a book was real, she investigated. "I looked for the picture online. Then, I searched to see if it was real. I found a reliable source that said it was a fake!"
