Kindergarten Scarecrow Coming to Issaquah!

Students pose as a group with their Scarecrow

Mrs. Kardong's Kindergarten class has been learning about farming and scarecrows, along with reading "Snow White and "Not Quite Snow White." During this time, they have been looking for opportunities to become more involved in our local community.

When they discovered the Downtown Issaquah Association was having a scarecrow contest, they knew it was the perfect way to creatively share their passion for learning with everyone! Together, the class worked to build their very own scarecrow for the contest, which will be exhibited with other entries in Downtown Issaquah through Saturday, November 11.

Haoyi M loved the project, saying, "I like how we made the scarecrow, taking the hay, the whole hay, and breaking it apart so it would fit in the bags." Classmate, Kai T, agreed. "I liked to stuff all the hay in the scarecrow. Next time, I think we should make a Spiderman scarecrow!"

Congratulations to Mrs. Kardong's class on a job well done!
