Library Buddies, Learning Leadership Skills

Our second grade students are reading buddies with the kindergartners, and recently, they assisted the "kinders" with the library shelving system. After being paired up with a buddy, the kinder students learned how to use shelf markers to locate books on our library's shelves. One second grade buddy said, "I helped my little buddy find my favorite books from when I was in Kindergarten, and she actually checked one out. Then, I read it to her. It was so fun!"

We love to see our older students leading their younger peers within and beyond the classroom. Go second grade!
