Science Fair and STEM Night
What a great week of Science and STEM activity! Over 50 students completed Science Fair projects, which were on display throughout the hallways, and some students participated in STEM related activities at home. Our Science Week culminated in a Family STEM Night on Friday, March 24.
Over 300 students and families journeyed through the building and tried different STEM activities. The Burke Museum brought a hands-on exhibit of animals and nature. Our own Liberty High School Robotics team brought their robot, and students took turns driving it around the gym. In the MPR, students could experience different engineering activities like building your own mini light saber or a boat that could float. The Maywood Rubiks Cube Club was there, and students got to put their Rubiks Cube-solving knowledge to the test. Families also walked around the building to see all the Science Fair projects and even try out some coding with Code.org. One student, Flynn J, said, "It was pretty great! There was lots of stuff to do. Seeing people drive the robot was fun and the hands on stuff was fun!" What a great night! A huge thank you to Chairperson April Chan and the Maple Hills PTA for organizing the whole week!
