My name is Jessica Spiers am the School Based Mental Health Counselor at Maple Hills Elementary school.

Swedish is contracted with the Issaquah School District to provide mental health services to students within the convenience of their school environment. Our model aims to meet with students 8-10 sessions and work with the child, teacher and family during the treatment in order to foster change. I can additionally help families connect with community services.

What services do I provide to the students at Maple Hills?

I provide confidential counseling on topics including:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship/social problems
  • Family Concerns
  • Grief and Loss
  • Access to Community Services

What are my credentials?

I am licensed as a clinical social worker certified to provide mental health services to children and their families. I have years of experience in mental health assessment and counseling.

Who can access my services?

Any student and family member of Maple Hills Elementary school. However, in accordance with state law, to access my services all students under the age of 13 will need signed parental consent prior to the commencement of services.

Who can refer a student?

Referrals are accepted from anyone who has a concern about a student and can be made by contacting Amber Bryant, the school counselor. However, the service is voluntary and students are not required to utilize my services. I am bound by HIPPA laws and will not divulge any confidential information without a parental release of information (ROI) and student consent. However if I feel that a student is at serious risk for harming themselves or others or in case of child abuse or neglect, school staff, parents and authorities, as appropriate will be contacted.
